Does getting stronger require more training?

Autumn is a return to routine. After the summer, you feel like getting back in shape: moving more and feeling strong again. When you don’t feel good and strong in your own body, the first thought is; I should train more.
But what if this time we didn’t start by doing more and working harder?
What does a strong core look like?
A strong core is easily thought of as a tight stomach and strong abdominal muscles. However, when it comes to a woman’s body, things are much more interesting.
Core strength doesn’t just come from tensing muscles or increasing the amount of training. What’s important is how breathing, the pelvic floor, the diaphragm, the deep supporting muscles and the supporting tissues work together.
The softness that is characteristic of a woman’s body is not necessarily the opposite of strength. On the contrary, it may contain exactly the characteristic we need to get stronger.
When we reduce unnecessary tension, the deep muscles of the body can do their job and training becomes more effective.
In Marja’s Club, training is based on the working model of less is more. When training is regular, precise and correctly dosed, we don’t have to fight with our body. We can learn to use it better.
The first episode of Marja’s Club Autumn “Strengthen & Beautify” is based on Method Putkisto Deep Strengthening and Pilates. In this module, we build the foundation of posture, strengthen the core and explore how the support of the whole body extends all the way to the face.
Pilates is not just about movements
Method Putkisto Pilates does not just mean performing certain Pilates movements.
The purpose of training is to learn to know your own body and understand how your body works. As your body awareness deepens, you will begin to notice where you may be doing too much, where you need more support and how you can use strength without unnecessary tension and performance.
That's why one of the most important exercises in the new section takes place between movements: observation.
How does your breathing feel?
Where do you feel support?
What happens to your pelvic position?
Can you do less and get more out of the movement?
This is where the interesting world of Method Putkisto begins!
Posture connects the body and the face.
Strengthening the core body is not limited to the waist.
The position of the pelvis affects the spine. The support of the spine affects the upper body, shoulders, neck and head position. And eventually this whole chain is also visible in the face.
When the support of the upper body improves and unnecessary tension is released, a better foundation is also created for exercising the face.
That's why Strengthen & Beautify does not mean two separate projects for us, strengthening the body and beautifying the face. We look at the person as a whole.
In BODY training, we focus on controlling the pelvic position and building a stronger core, freeing and opening the upper body.
In FACE training, we work with head support and face lifting. When support is found, metabolism improves, expression becomes fresher and facial features become clearer.

Less is more
During the six weeks, we don't need a huge amount of training at once.
We dive deep for 25 minutes at a time: in the morning to the face and in the evening to the body. Through repetitions and regularity, the body is given time to learn.
Marja’s Club is not a quick fix. It is training where you gradually learn to recognise your own body and get concrete tools to use it, strengthen it and support well-being.
It is especially worth giving yourself time for a new training. You don't have to understand everything in the first class. Learning about the body is a process.
That's why six weeks with the same theme is so interesting.
You may notice something in the first week.
In the third week, you will start to recognise it.
In the sixth week, something that initially required a lot of concentration may already feel completely natural.
That is the power of regular training.
Your coach at the club will be Marja Putkisto, the developer of the Method Putkisto Method.
Marja’s Club Strengthen & Beautify modul starts on Monday, 7th September, 2026.
This autumn, we are not aiming for more to do.
We are aiming for a stronger core, a freer body, better support and, through it, natural beauty.
Less is more.
