From the pen of a Club member.
As a mother of a large family, there is a lot of hustle and bustle and concrete things to do. You have to be available 24/7. In the midst of all this, it is always “easy” to forget yourself and go along with the demands. To start doing things that others need. The danger is that the cup is easily half empty and doing everything becomes energy-consuming and burdensome.
I did too much.
For a long time, I tried to take care of my fitness and recovery by running kilometers, but organising time for them is always a big achievement. I still enjoy these when I find the opportunity, but a different way of exercising has saved my everyday life.
What is new?
In Marja’s Club, I have found a way to return my thoughts to myself. The morning Face exercise is particularly important in how I approach my day. Although the exercise is physical - reducing tension in the chewing muscles, improving the support of the cheeks and lips and brightening the gaze - the starting point is to focus on yourself. I have often saved my day by being able to concretely dive to the point where I can assess situations and take direction myself.
I gather myself on the exercise mat.
The evening Body exercise is a continuation of the morning class. At the same time as I gather myself on the exercise mat, I gather my day. It is a relief to notice how little I can affect my body. Even half an hour of exercise eases tensions. Even those that I was not even aware of before. Thanks to this, I feel that the position and shape of my body have changed. For some reason, the feeling of being burdened also decreases and the mind calms down for the night.
Everyday life does not change, but the starting point for doing things changes.
What does life feel like when you act from fulfillment and from yourself? When you act from your own perspective, from your own starting point, what you do becomes meaningful and fulfilling. Then the amount and quality of energy you use to do it also changes. You will notice that your thoughts are clearer and brighter, and decisions are easier to make.
From busywork to learning.
In each six-week Marja’s Club module, we approach the body from a new perspective. The themes of the periods are based on books written by Marja Putkisto and the programs she has developed. The different themes also take into account seasonal changes; the body needs different training at different times.
At the beginning of the module, we are always faced with the same thing; we encounter our own realities and resistance points. I may not recognise or visualise my body in the exercise, or even be able to put my point into words.
At this point, you may feel like throwing in the towel. However, if you are curious enough and get past this stage, you will soon notice a change starting to occur in your body. At the end of the module, the reward is not only change but also a deeper understanding of the theme's impact on well-being.
As the modules change, your mind also gets used to the fact that not everything will open up right away at the beginning. You can notice this effect holistically in your life. When you encounter a problem, you will notice how your attitude and reaction change.
Curiosity pays off.
I have been training in Marja’s Club since 2019. After several years at the Club, I have noticed that it is not worth walking over yourself. Get to know yourself and stop regularly. Take things one at a time. If something doesn't feel right, don't consider it a failure, but approach this with curiosity, which you can return to later. This gives you the opportunity to be inspired by yourself and your life, every time anew.
